Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy (DRFC) engaged 313c to design and deliver a public engagement process for Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park on the City of Detroit’s west riverfront. Over 3 years, 313c designed and delivered a national design competition, directed engagement with a 21-member Community Advisory Team (CAT), led a three-city benchmarking tour and conducted a robust public engagement program for Detroit residents.
Working directly with stakeholders including design-lead Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the City of Detroit, community-based organizations, local schools and the public, 313c served as a strategic liaison to ensure that ideas, insights and priorities from all constituents were integrated into the park design process.
Today the 22-acre riverfront park is under construction and scheduled to open in late 2024.
